Supta Vajrasna
Supta Vajrasna is a supplementary posture of Shashanka Asana and Manduka Asana, and alternative of Ushtrasana, therefore Yoga practitioners should not skip and perform this Asana regularly.
Supta means state of sleep. One sleeps by back in ‘lie down Vajrasna’ posture, hence the name.
1. Be seated in Vajrasana with making a suitable distance between heels so as to touch perineum with the floor.
2. With the support of both palms and elbows, lean down backwards with inhalation so as to lie completely on floor.
3. Put your waist and head on floor, palms resting over thighs, knees joined and touching floor and sight vertical with normal breathing.
4. Remain in this posture for some comfortable duration say one or two minutes and return to normal Vajrasana posture with inhalation in reverse order of practice.
5. Straighten your legs full length and relax.
