Ramabana Asana (Arrow Posture)


Rama-Bana refers to the arrow held by lord Rama on bow string, ready to strike on enemy. The posture of Ramabana Asana practitioner is like that arrow, hence the name.

1. Lay down on Stomach, and straighten legs full length.

2. Head resting over chin, bring straight forward both hands parallel to each other with palms facing down and spaced in line of shoulder width.

3. Make similar spacing between feet also.

4. Inhale fully and raise hands up along with chest, shoulders and legs (from hip joints), eyesight fixed on a point in front.

5. Let whole body weight come over navel region of stomach.

6. Retain the posture and air for some time and then lower down hands, chest and legs with exhalation through nostrils.

7. Repeat the practice three times in the same way and relax in Balaka Asana for a minute.
