Naukasana (Boat Posture)
Nauka means boat. The posture of a Naukasana practitioner resembles to a sailing boat, hence the name.
1. Boat Posture is similar to Ramabana Asana except that instead of hands and legs kept at a distance and palms facing downwards.
2. Palms and feet are joined together and raised along with chest and legs with inhalation and retention.
3. Join heels and bring hands straightened forward. Join palms as in Namaskar Mudra.
4. With inhalation, lift hands, chest and legs, retain posture and air for some time and slowly lower down all organs with exhalation.
5. Repeat the practice three times and relax in Balaka Asana for a minute.
6. In the final posture if the palms are positioned overlapping each other. the posture is known as Sarpasana (Serpent Posture).
Note – Practitioner may choose either Ramabana Asana or Naukasana or both for regular practice.
