Dhanu means bow, the body shape of Dhanurasana practitioner becomes like that of a bow with stretched string, hence the name.
1. Lay down on Stomach.
2. Make a distance of nearly a foot between heals.
3. Raise your feet and calves by bending from knees.
4. Hold the leg near ankle joint by both hands, and simultaneously with inhalation lift head and chest region.Keep eye sight in line with face.
5. Hold the posture for a few seconds and feel the compression in lumber and thoracic vertebras and tension in cervical vertebras of spinal column and further increase it by stretching hands.
6. Relax down the pressure a bit and hold the posture for a while.
7. Slowly come down to lying position, pause, and repeat the posture three times in he same way.
8. Relax in Crocodile Posture or Child posture (Balak Asana) for a minute.
9. Normalize your breathing and heart beats.
