Chakra means a circle. The body posture of a Chakrasana practitioner resembles to a semi circle or like a rainbow, hence the name.
1. Lay down on Stomach, and straighten legs full length.
2. Make a distance of nearly a foot between feet.
3. Bring heels near to hips and hands near head with elbows up in air and palms resting over floor with fingers towards waist.
4. Now with inhalation raise your knees, hips, chest, shoulders and head to maximum, thus giving whole body a shape of a semi circle or a rainbow.
5. Only feet and palms shall remain firmly placed on floor and bear complete body weight.
6. Maintain the posture for a few seconds and with exhalation lower down the body and come to normal laying position.
7. You may repeat the posture two or three times in this way.
8. Relax in Balaka Asana for a minute.
