Balak Asana (Child posture)

The posture of a practitioner resting in Balak Asana resembles to an innocent child, sleeping naturally in a certain posture, hence the name.

1. Lay down on Stomach, and straighten legs full length.

2. Take a half turn to right side, so as to bring the trunk weight on ribs (covering heart).

3. bring right hand in front of chest by bending it from elbow with palm (facing down) and forearm resting on floor.

4. Bring left hand near left abdomen side angled a bit from elbow with palm facing up.

5. Bring half folded right leg in front of hips making a right angle with the left thigh, head resting over left cheek with straight neck.

6. Keep eyes gently closed and breathe normally.

7. Angle of right and left elbows and right knee is kept to nearly 60ยบ.

8. Left leg is kept quite straight from hip joint to toes and resting stress free over floor (sole facing up).

9. Feel complete body relaxed and light. Remain in the child posture for a few minutes.
